The vivo V80 goes on sale in India today, October 13, 2026, starting at ₹62,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. The 8GB + 256GB version costs ₹69,999 and the 8GB + 512GB version costs ₹79,999. You can buy it from vivo.com/in, Flipkart, Amazon.in and partner retail stores in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.

I will be straight with you: my first reaction to the V80 was “that is a lot for a V-series phone.” The V line used to be vivo’s good-looking mid-ranger. At nearly ₹63,000 for the base model, it is now priced against proper flagships from a year ago. But then you look at what is inside, a 7,200mAh battery in a phone under 8mm thick, a 50MP ZEISS telephoto, six years of security updates, and it starts to make more sense. Let me walk through what you get, what the launch offers really save you, and where I think vivo cut a corner.

vivo V80 price in India and variants

VariantPriceWith 10% cashback
8GB + 128GB₹62,999about ₹56,699
8GB + 256GB₹69,999about ₹62,999
8GB + 512GB₹79,999about ₹71,999

All three come with 8GB of RAM, so you are only paying for storage as you go up. There is no card slot. My pick is the 256GB model. Phones that shoot 4K video fill 128GB faster than you expect, and the jump to 512GB costs another ₹10,000 that most people will not need.

Sale date, stores and launch offers

Pre-booking opened on October 6, the day vivo announced the phone. Open sales begin today across vivo’s own website, Flipkart, Amazon.in and offline partner stores.

The offers, straight from vivo’s press release:

  • 10% instant cashback with listed banks, cards and UPI, or up to 10% exchange bonus under V-Upgrade. You pick one, not both.
  • Easy EMI from ₹2,625 per month on a 24-month zero down payment scheme, valid until October 18.
  • 1 year of free extended warranty on online purchases.
  • 100GB of Google One storage for 6 months.
  • Up to 40% off V-Shield screen damage and extended warranty plans, starting at ₹1,134.

The cashback is the one that counts. On the base model it takes roughly ₹6,300 off. If your old phone is in good shape, compare the exchange value before you decide, because 10% on top of a decent trade-in can beat the bank offer.

The battery is the star

A 7,200mAh battery is the biggest vivo has ever put in a V-series phone, and the surprising part is the body around it. At 7.69mm and 203 grams, the V80 is not a brick. vivo is using a fourth-generation silicon carbon anode to pack that capacity in. For most people this should mean a comfortable day and a half, maybe two days if you are light on gaming. I cannot promise exact hours until reviewers run their tests, but the capacity alone puts it ahead of almost everything at this price.

Charging is 90W, and yes, the charger comes in the box. That still deserves a mention in 2026.

Display and design

The screen is a 6.59-inch AMOLED at 2750 x 1260 resolution with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. One small note from vivo’s footnotes: 144Hz only kicks in for selected apps, so expect 120Hz most of the time. Bezels are 1.25mm thin, and there is a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, which vivo says works with wet fingers. That is a real upgrade over the optical sensors common at this price, especially in monsoon season.

The back is glass with an aluminium alloy frame, and IP68 plus IP69 ratings cover dust, immersion and high-pressure water. Sunrise Anthem, the orange one in all of vivo’s ads, is the colour that will get noticed.

Cameras: built around portraits and zoom

vivo is selling the V80 as a creator phone, and the camera setup backs that up. The main camera is a 50MP sensor with OIS, using Sony’s LYTIA 700V. The second is a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto with a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS and 3x optical zoom. A real telephoto at this price is still not a given, and it is the lens you will reach for when taking portraits of people.

The third camera is an 8MP ultra-wide, and that is the corner I mentioned. On a ₹63,000 phone, 8MP feels stingy. It will be fine in daylight and soft at night.

On the front is a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view, so group selfies do not need a long arm. Video goes up to 4K at 60fps, with a 4K Cinematic Video mode offering three colour styles. ZEISS Multifocal Portrait gives you five classic focal lengths from 23mm to 100mm. There is also an AI Creative Camera with more than 30 styles and a Diwali portrait mode, though vivo’s fine print says some AI features are only available from October 10 to November 20.

Performance and software

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the part that will divide people. It is a capable 4nm chip that handles daily use and popular games smoothly, and vivo says it supports up to 144fps gaming. But it is an upper mid-range processor, not a flagship one. If raw speed per rupee is what you want, phones like the Redmi Note 17 Pro series or the OPPO F35 Pro cost far less, and gaming-first brands offer faster chips at the V80’s price.

The V80 is the first V-series phone to ship with OriginOS 7. vivo promises six years of security updates. Read that carefully: the press release specifies security patches, not six years of Android version upgrades. Long security support is still valuable if you keep phones for a long time.

Should you buy the vivo V80?

The V80 suits you if battery life, portraits and a slim, good-looking body are your top three priorities. It is a phone for people who take lots of photos of people and hate carrying a power bank. It is not for you if you want the fastest chip for the money or care about ultra-wide shots.

My honest take: at ₹62,999 it is a hard sell, but at an effective ₹56,699 after cashback it becomes a reasonable one. Buy during the launch window if you are buying at all. The complete offer terms are listed in vivo India’s official V80 press release.
