Editorial Guidelines

Last updated July 15, 2026

At Kocitech (Local Dev), our goal is simple: to publish technology coverage that is genuinely useful, honest, and written by real people. These guidelines describe how we work and what you can expect from us.

Written by humans

Every article is researched, written, and edited by a real person. We do not publish auto-generated filler. Our writers spend time with the hardware, software, and ideas they cover so they can tell you what something is actually like to use.

Independence

Our editorial opinions are our own. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage, and advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in what we write or the conclusions we reach.

How we research and test

Where possible, we test products hands-on. When first-hand testing isn’t possible, we rely on reputable sources, manufacturer specifications, and established reporting, and we make the basis of our conclusions clear to readers.

Accuracy and sourcing

We aim to get things right. We cite credible sources, link to primary information where we can, and distinguish clearly between fact, analysis, and opinion.

Affiliate transparency

Some of our links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when you buy through them. This never changes our recommendations — we suggest products on merit, not on commission. See our Terms of Use for the full disclosure.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it. If you spot an error, please tell us through our Contact page and we will review and correct it promptly, noting significant changes where appropriate.
